MATIAS VILLAFAÑE - VIOloncello / SPANISH

Argentine cellist studied cello with the teacher Carlos Pontine and Wladimir Glagol at the National Conservatory of music where he graduated with the title of national Professor of music specialty violoncello. In Germany carried out postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold with master Marcio Carneiro and at the Hochschule für Musik Munster with Matias de Oliveira Pinto.

He participated actively of masterclasses and courses of Violoncello with professors Yo Yo Ma, Carlos Prieto, Jeroen Reuling, Francois Guye and of Chamber music with the teachers Nicolás Chumachenko, Michael Tree, Stewart Eaton, Peter Stein and Jean-Eflam Bavouzet.

He has received fellowships from the Fundación Antorchas and Fondo Nacional de las Artes in Argentina.

He serves as Violoncellist of the FILARMONICA DE BUENOS AIRES,
She has given concerts in various cities of the Argentina, also in Uruguay, Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, United States, Portugal, France, Italy, Turkey, Belgium, Netherlands, Kosovo and Germany.

Has performed as a soloist with orchestras of which and Youth Radio National Argentina and with the Verler Vierjahreszeiten Symphoniker, Detmolder Kammerorchester and Mozart Orchester Münster in Germany Academy of Teatro Colón, of the Chamber of the National Congress, the University of Tucumán National University Symphony Symphony.

He was Professor of cello at the Schule für Musik und Kunst (School of music and art) of Gütersloh and the Musikschule Germany in Oerlinghausen.

In the Argentina was invited by Radio national to teach master classes and by the University of whose workshops of cello within the framework of the first International Conference on Latin American music.

He serves as Professor of Violoncello of the Conservatory of the city of Buenos Aires.

Within the framework of the first Latin American Festival of Violoncello held in Buenos Aires, under the direction of Eduardo Vassallo, was winner of the first prize in the contest "Nicholas Finolli".
